**Your Role**:
The Product Development Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of new Property products or changes across Chubb Australia’s business.
**Your Responsibilities**:
**Product Development**
- Draft new or revised policy wordings and associated endorsements, ancillary documents
and marketing materials
- Produce high-quality products which are responsive to underwriter and competitive
marketplace needs that are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Provide technical guidance with regard to product use and related regulatory issues
- Work closely with internal stakeholders such as legal and compliance to obtain input and
approvals in line with product development processes and procedures
- Update internal stakeholders of progress of product development throughout the product
lifecycle
**Review manuscript policy and endorsement wordings proposed by external parties**
- Review against an established and evolving set of standards
- Provide product head and underwriters with analysis of various provisions and provide
general comparison documents for field use
**Regulatory and Compliance Counselling
- Monitor Property-related regulatory and industry developments on a worldwide basis, and
advise product head of these developments
- Provide technical training on regulatory, case law, and coverage developments to
underwriters
- Where applicable, draft or counsel the team on the drafting of major endorsements
addressing these developments
- Assist in addressing regulatory inquiries and educate insurance regulators on Property
related policy provisions
**Essential**:
- Tertiary qualifications in law with 2 to 5 years’ legal experience in private practice and/or
in house
- Proven strength in policy drafting
- Substantial experience with regulatory, statutory and case law in the area of Property
insurance
- Broad knowledge of relevant laws, codes, legal obligations and regulatory policy and
procedures governing the Australian general insurance and/or financial services industry
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive collaborative relationships
both within and across functional lines
- Insurance industry knowledge
- Clear ability to understand business needs and provide consultation that is compliant, but
helps to meet business goals
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, take initiative and refer and escalate
matters appropriately
- A positive attitude and high integrity
**Desirable**:
- Experience in either Property Claims or Property Underwriting
