This is a newly created role to support the head of Risk & Compliance in an ASX-listed Australian fintech firm with ambitious growth targets. Be a part of building the risk culture by being involved in developing and executing the assurance plan and elements of the wider enterprise risk framework, in line with organisational policies and regulatory/ industry standards.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Support the implementation and execution of a risk and compliance controls assurance framework to ensure effective processes, procedures & controls are in place
- Action outcomes generated from audit and assurance activities, and work with the business to close out findings and remediation activities
- Prepare and execute risk/controls assessments and maintain the required standard audits, assurance and reviews in relation to industry and best practice standards (ISO/CDR)
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to design risk mitigation strategies and controls, including reporting on assurance outcomes
- Review and maintain existing suite of policies and procedures
- Assist in the uplift of risk and compliance frameworks and practices across the business
- Assisting with the development, implementation, review, update and monitoring of compliance with risk and compliance frameworks, policies and procedures.
- Assist in refining and enhancing various elements of the existing enterprise risk framework
- Other risk and compliance related tasks including (but not limited to) analysis of risk events to identify and implement process improvements across the business; assistance with fraud and suspicious matter investigations; development and conduct of risk and compliance workshops and training; and being a trusted advisor on risk and compliance to the business

**Knowledge and experience**:

- 2-4 years of experience in a risk management, compliance, risk assurance / external or internal audit role, preferably in a regulated environment
- An understanding of Compliance or Information Security Risk and Frameworks, including issue and incident management, control design and change management
- Proven ability to handle and manage changing priorities and stakeholder expectations
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to inform or influence people at all levels
- Flexible and comfortable working in an agile, fast and constantly changing environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge and experience with information security frameworks such as ISO 27001 or similar would be advantageous (not mandatory)
- Ability to identify, interpret and document compliance requirements related to legal, regulatory, and financial matters
