**About the Role**

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Laboratory Assistant to join our Senior School Science Department. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will work collaboratively with the teaching staff to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory. You will be responsible for setting up practical experiments, maintaining laboratory equipment, and following safety protocols to ensure the safe use and disposal of hazardous materials.

**About You**

You are dedicated, passionate and possess the following:

- Working towards or have a relevant qualification in science, laboratory technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in maintaining scientific equipment.
- Familiarity with stock control systems and correct labelling practices for chemicals and chemical solutions, is desirable.
- Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures and regulations, including experience maintaining a Substance Register and Material Safety Data Sheets is desirable.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with teachers, students, and other staff members.
- Previous experience working in a laboratory setting is desirable.

- Appropriate qualifications
- A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
- A current National Police Check; and
- Full working rights within Australia.
