**Your new role**
Role and Responsibilities:

- Overall management and responsibility for weekly processing payroll for both our hotel and head office operations
- Ensure all payments are made accurately and on time as per the employee's employment contract, Modern Award and legislative requirements
- Prepare and manage PAYG tax, superannuation guarantee contributions and Single Touch Payroll requirements
- Review and approve all payroll payments and work with internal operations team to close out any timesheet or payroll actions or concerns within our IT payroll and timesheet systems
- Perform audits as required to ensure accuracy and detail of work
- Prepare reports when required for various stakeholders within the business
- Complete workers compensation wage declarations and renewals and process all workers compensation payments on time and with a high degree of accuracy
- Support the Group Financial Controller and Financial Controller - Hotels with any payroll or associated related works including projects and business improvement initiatives
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external
- Supported by the HR Director respond to employee queries and provide advice to employees in relation to any pay issues or employment related legislation
- Identify necessary process improvements and implement these changes for efficiency gains
- Attend and contribute to meetings and discussions

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Experience in management and administration of the payroll for a medium sized business
- Ability to quickly learn new computing software systems, previous experience with Human Force and ELMO payroll is highly desirable
- Experience with working and understanding the Hospitality Industry (General) Award (preferred)
- Strong understanding on the Australian Tax and Superannuation system
- Ability to identify and independently resolve payroll discrepancies
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate confidently and establish rapport
