**The Role**:
Reporting to the Corporate Strategy Manager, this Strategy & Planning Analyst will be a part of a small team in the corporate office, and will provide strong analytical and modelling support for strategy and M&A to the strategy and business development team as well as other commercial support to the broader business.

This will be done through the collation, extraction and analysis of data from multiple internal and external sources and the development of reporting tools, models and dashboard reports which will also assist with trend analysis, opportunities and early warning indicators.

You will carry out financial modelling of profitability, ROI and margin analysis with the aim of monitoring the impact of commercial decisions on the bottom line. The key to your success will be your ability to effectively become the internal 'story teller' communicating your findings to senior executives with depth and substance ensuring you know the facts behind the findings.

You will build business partnering relationships with various stakeholders across the business as this will assist you in gathering the right data for your analysis as well as giving you the best platform to properly influence the business strategy based on your findings and reviews.

Key tasks will include:
Analytical and modelling support, including:

- Analytical support in relation to the organisations strategic planning process
- Maintenance and development of the market models including organisations cement and concrete market share model and import parity pricing model
- Ongoing improvement and development of organisations market forecast models to assist in strategic decision making
- Mapping software maintenance and production of mapping data to support growth plans and strategic planning

Analytical support in relation to M&A activities including:

- Analysis of acquisition targets
- Competitor and market analysis
- Target valuation workings

Develop and deliver initiatives to improve business processes and tools, such as:

- Assist to standardise analysis, reporting and presentation on M&A activities
- Development and maintenance of dashboards for internal sharing of strategy information, utilising tools such as Power Query and PowerBI
- Provide input into the group's strategic planning process

We are seeking expressions of interest from an ambitious analyst who has had experience working within a retail or FMCG company or looking to make their first move from a chartered environment. You will have excellent analytical capabilities and be a confident communicator who can engage with and influence non-financial stakeholders. Additionally, you will possess an enthusiastic & ambitious attitude which allows you to work collaboratively within a high performing finance team. You will be natural problem solver and strategic thinker and will be highly competent in working amongst large data sets to pull together robust and insightful recommendations to drive business performance.

You will also be a genuine business partner who is able to build strong relationships across the business, particularly with the SLT.
