As the Principal Policy Officer, you will provide strategic and policy leadership, working to address complex challenges within Queensland's innovation sector. You will bring a proactive and collaborative approach to your work, building strong relationships with stakeholders and translating complex issues into clear, evidencebased policy recommendations. You will:
**Develop and administer programs**: Lead the design, implementation, and oversight of a range of initiatives and actions aimed at creating high-value jobs and driving positive economic outcomes. Policy research and development: Identify emerging issues and conduct thorough research and analysis to inform the development of evidence-based policy solutions. Use your findings to provide high-quality advice to senior management.
**Stakeholder engagement**: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to communicate the Government's innovation policy priorities, programs, and strategic direction. Build and maintain productive relationships across the innovation ecosystem.
**Prepare high-level documents**: Lead or contribute to the preparation of Cabinet submissions, policy documents, reports, plans, briefing notes, and other strategic correspondence, ensuring high-quality and timely responses.
**Foster collaboration and innovation**: Facilitate constructive dialogue with stakeholders to grow Queensland's innovation ecosystem, identifying opportunities for collaboration and development across priority industry sectors.
**Represent the department**: Act as a key representative of the department at industry events, meetings, and working groups, presenting a professional image and providing informed contributions.
**Contribute to team success**: Play an active role in fostering a positive and collaborative team environment, where all members are empowered to succeed. Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to junior team members.
**Champion diversity**: Actively promote the interests of First Nations people and support initiatives that contribute to better outcomes for Indigenous communities. Encourage diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the workplace.
