CatholicCare’s Continuous Improvement Team is seeking a Continuous Improvement Support Worker to provide administrative and operational support, helping to drive quality outcomes for children and young people in Statutory Out-of-Home Care.
In this role, you will contribute to maintaining accurate records for reporting and information sharing while supporting best practices in child protection, permanency support, and child-safe services. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, along with a working knowledge of relevant policies and procedures.
This part-time position (24 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, negotiable) offers flexibility, professional growth, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a mission-driven organisation.

**Description**:
POSITION DESCRIPTION
CatholicCare’s Continuous Improvement Team make a significant contribution to the outcomes for children and young people in the Permanency Support Program (PSP) and the Supported independent Living (SIL) program by ensuring quality outcomes for children in Statutory Out-Of-Home Care through supporting the adherence to compliance, program guidelines and legislation.
The Continuous Improvement Support Worker tasks include administration support for the Continuous Improvement Team including updating the PSP Hub, ensuring forms and systems are updated and maintaining systems that ensure data integrity and compliance reporting against key accountabilities. The Support Worker is required to work in partnership with the NSW Department of Communities and Justice, (DCJ) and other agencies in the universal service system to improve evidence-based casework, share decision-making risk and promote dignity in service delivery.

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
- A commitment to the Vision, Mission and Values of CatholicCare.
- Certificate or Diploma level qualification in social welfare or currently undertaking or significant work history within a similar role
- An understanding of the impact of disadvantage on individuals, families and communities.
- A demonstrated understanding of the NSW Permanency Support Program and the needs of the young people in the program.
- An understanding of the SIL Program and how it can support the Permanency Support Program.
- Ability to help support, empower and enable young people to become independent and the best version of themselves.
- Very well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- A commitment to teamwork approaches and the ability to work independently and proactively.
- Demonstrated time management skills.
- A demonstrated ability to self-reflect and to engage in and grow from reflective practices sessions in both a group and one on one environment.
- Willingness to be available for on call roster and rotated weekend or after-hours work.
- Ability to undertake various administrative tasks to a high standard, for example, data entry, report writing, purchasing, filing and scheduling within a busy environment.
- Excellent skills in implementing strategies that promote emotional and developmental well-being in young people who have experienced complex trauma.
- Knowledge of childhood trauma and development theory and the impacts on young people in their adolescent years and beyond.
- Experience working with people from a Culturally & Linguistically Diverse and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.
- Experience working with youth who may at times demonstrate challenging behaviour
- Experience in working from a strengths-based perspective.
- Ability to demonstrate and work within the key accountabilities and inherent requirement of this position detailed in Section 12.
- Any other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualification in Community Service Welfare, Youth Work, Child and Family studies or a related field, preferably at Diploma level (working towards) or extensive experience working with young people.
- Current driver licence and use of own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
- National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014.
- Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
