- **Location**:Parramatta NSW
- **Employment type**: Temporary full-time until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension.
- **Grade**:$105,986 - $116,969 per annum (depending on NAATI credentials held), plus superannuation and annual leave loading, in accordance with the _Crown Employees (Interpreters and Translators, Multicultural NSW) Award_.

**Your role**

The onsite Interpreter & Translator will be responsible for delivering accurate, high-quality interpreting and translating services in the relevant community language to ensure that members of the relevant ethnic community have equal access to government and non-government services.

**What you’ll do**

As part of the Language Services team at Multicultural NSW, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality interpreting services and delivering accurate and fluent translations to key clients. You will ensure a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced, complex setting. Your duties include delivering onsite telephone interpreting at our Parramatta office and the translation of a variety of documents, five days a week. Occasionally you may need to attend onsite assignments.

You will also manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment, communicate sensitively with diverse customers to facilitate communication, and stay up to date with industry developments to maintain compliance with current standards and codes of ethics.

**What we’re looking for**
- A NAATI Certified Interpreter and Translator, in both directions, holding all of the following certifications:
- Certified Interpreter or higher in either Arabic, Mandarin or Vietnamese and
- Certified Translator Arabic, Chinese or Vietnamese into English, and
- Certified Translator English into Arabic, Chinese or Vietnamese.
- Over five years’ experience in interpreting and translation
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to perform well under pressure.
- Ability to manage a variety of tasks and work to a flexible schedule at our Parramatta office or to attend onsite interpreting assignments as needed.
