**About us**

Essential Care is a locally owned family business operating within the Illawarra for almost 14 years. Services are provided through the NDIS, Home Care Packages, Veterens Home Care and Brokerage services. We pride ourselves in providing continuity of care while delivering high quality care to our clients.

**About you**

We are looking for experienced support workers with availability on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (and other days if required/desired) available to start at 7am or finish later in the day at 8pm. You will be reliable and caring with the ability to prioritise and organise work according to directed tasks. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work without supervision. Our services are provided within the clients home, so a love of driving is a must.

**Requirements**:
You will be required to hold and obtain the following:

- Drivers licence
- Access to a reliable car which is registered and comprehensively insured
- First aid certificate as well as an annual CPR certificate
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Childrens Check

**Desireable**

It would be a bonus if you possessed the following:

- Medication administration certificate
- Certificate III in Individualised Support (Ageing or Disability)
- Experience and confidence in using lifters

**Your day will include**:
**1. Provide individualised assistance with activities of daily living to people living with a disability and ageing people and veterens and their families**

Main Activities:

- General housekeeping: including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, Making/changing beds, laundry, cleaning bathrooms/toilets, cleaning kitchens including washing dishes.
- Assistance with daily living including mobilising, assistance with showering, toileting, dressing, grooming.
- Meal preparation and cooking
- Assistance to monitor and prompt medication
- Transporting Clients to appointments, activities, day-care, hospital etc
- Shopping assistance either with the Client or without the Client
- Social support including outings into the community, providing one on one conversation ect.
- Respite services either in home or out of home
- Clients dignity is maintained during all personal care services

**2. Provide a well-documented and professional service**

Main activities:

- Complete clear and precise documentation at the end of each service
- Provide the Client Care Leader with feedback regarding Clients deterioration, changes in needs, concerns etc
- Drive safely between each service obeying the road rules
- Follow your roster as is and notify the Roster Coordinator of any issues that may arise with the roster
- Ensure Clients Privacy and Confidentiality is maintained at all times including with other Employee’s and Clients
- Provide a professional service maintaining boundaries i.e. not discussing personal issues with Clients

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $31.46 - $39.55 per hour

Expected hours: 6 - 38 per week
