As a Deputy Manager, HIRS with Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network, you will be primarily responsible for supporting the Health Information and Services (HIRS) Manager in leading and managing a diverse and wide-ranging array of staff in a dynamic departmental environment to ensure optimal service delivery that supports the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network and it’s patients and customers in relation to health records management and medico-legal services.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in health information management or similar area, or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and work experience.
- Demonstrated effective management and leadership/rostering skills including the ability to motivate and develop staff, and exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proven experience in financial management including developing and meeting budgets and staying within staffing limits.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality principles and experience in change management.
- Demonstrated sound understanding of the legislation, regulations, policies and Australian Standards associated with records, information management, medico-legal matters, and privacy and confidentiality.
- Proven experience in the development, implementation of policies and procedures related to paper and electronic health records management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computerised patient information systems, admitted patient data requirements and excellent computer skills, including the use of MS Office products.
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication, and demonstrated ability to consult and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
