Disability Support Workers | Casual

Location: Ipswich QLD (Booval and Bundamba Area)

About the role

APEX Care Services have shifts available for 60 Hours Per week. The role involves varied shifts with 2:1 Support from 6am - 10pm and Active nights 1:1 10pm-6am for a client in their early 50s.

Female Staff Required.

As a Disability Support Worker at APEX Care Services, you'll provide a variety of 'at home' and 'in community' services to help our customers live independently. Your duties will include but not limited:

- Assisting with personal care
- Medication assistance
- Meal preparation
- House duties
- Shopping and transport to medical appointments
- Social support and community engagement

Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum Qualification of Cert III or Cert IV in disability (or relevant)
- Mandatory minimum 8 - 12 Months experience of working with Clients with Epilepsy, Schizophrenic/ Paranoia, Trauma, Mental Health, Behaviours of concerns and high complex needs.
- Experience working with Clients with Addiction to Alcohol and Gambling.
- Transferrable skills in providing care and compassion to others
- Have proficient English skills
- Valid Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle (essential)
- Have flexibility to work on a 24/7 rotating roster which includes days, evenings, awake shifts, sleepovers and weekend shifts
- Have a Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (HLTAID0011) or willingness to obtain prior to commencing
- Be willing to provide an NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC) Clearance
- Have the ability to support others with personal care and domestic duties in a respectful way
- Have the capacity to meet the physical requirements of the job that may include manual handling tasks
- Have good computer, communication and interpersonal skills
- A confirmation record of COVID-19 vaccination (doses 1, 2 and booster)

Pay: From $32.73 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 60 per week
