Your role at St John of God Langmore Hospital
You will assist other members of the Food Services Department in providing high quality product and service to all customers, such as patients, caregiver and others. You will ensure that the Catering Department provides tasteful, nutritionally balanced meals of a high culinary and hygienic standard to patient and caregivers cost effectively.
In this position, you will ensure supervision of all other caregivers employed in the kitchen when the Catering Manager is off duty and undertake these functions in accordance with the hospital mission, values and policies.
You will ensure compliance with Infection Control Policies and Guidelines and compliance with HACCP Regulations and Food Safety Plan.
As a part of the team, you will actively be involved in all Departmental programs and practices in Compliance with statutory regulations.
The Position- Contribution to Service delivery is coordinated to ensure the best possible outcome for the customer (i.e. doctors, patients, visitors, caregivers).- Ensure that high standards of professional practice are provided and maintained.- Always be courteous and friendly to patients, doctors, visitors and caregivers.- Respect the values, beliefs and spiritual needs of all patients.- Ensure customer complaints are handled in accordance with the complaints policy.- Maintain an awareness of customer feedback and participate in utilising this information to evaluate and improve services.- Under the direction of the Catering manager, ensure the preparation and presentation of sandwiches and salad to patients and caregivers- To maintain a high standard of personal and kitchen hygiene.- To ensure that gloves are worn when handling food that will not receive further heat treatment.
You will have the ability to deliver exceptional customer service and possession of a food Handling Certificate I & II is preferable.
To succeed you will have excellent communication skills and experience with a food service environment.

We will offer you- Salary: $32.11 to $33.42 per hour (inclusive of casual loading) + 11.5% superannuation- Casual positions available- Salary packaging up to $18,550 on a range of benefits such as mortgage, rent, meal entertainment, holiday accommodation or other everyday living expenses as well as options to salary package benefits above the FBT cap on items such as:
