**About the Role**

The Food Service Assistant will be committed to work in a team environment with the ability to prioritise your tasks to prepare and provide meals, and delivering outstanding customer services. Reporting to the Food Services Supervisor, Working as part of the Food Services team at Casey Hospital, the main focus for a Food Services Assistant is on delivering an exceptional patient meal experience and willing to work within the values of Monash Health.

As an experienced Food Services Assistant, you’ll be responsible for the preparation, regeneration, plating, delivery and collection of meals throughout the day. Other key duties include.
- Assist in the preparation of meals
- Accurately assembling tray supplies and food on tray line
- Clean Kitchen and equipment
- Deliver, distribute and collect all meal requirements
- Strip, sort, sanitise and clean all trays, cutlery and utensils
- Completing all food safety documentation in a timely manner

**Shifts Available**
Pool Position - AM/PM Shift (Part Time - Ongoing)
(30 hours per fortnight)

The Food Services team at Casey Hospital requires a qualified Food Services Assistant to prepare and provide meals to our wards striving to consistently deliver high quality and efficient services to our patients.

**About Us**

Our Support Services team provides a range of essential non-clinical services that help our hospitals run. We provide food services, central production kitchen, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.

**About You**

As a talented Food Services Assistant, you take personal pride in providing excellent customer service and committed to meeting service delivery requirements in accordance with the Food Safety Program. To ensure your success in this role, you will have the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

- Qualification relevant to Health HLTFSE001 - Follow basic food safety practice (Essential)
- Previous experience preferably within healthcare
- Experience in the delivery of Food Services including an ability to negotiate positive outcomes for patients
- Clear understanding food safety guidelines
- A competent level of verbal & written communication skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) combined with outstanding customer service skills
- Comprehensive understanding of diet codes, texture modified foods and fluids, food allergies and intolerances.
- Ability to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Basic to intermediate computer skills
- Excellent customer service skills, able to provide a friendly approach to all patients and visitors at Monash Health
