About the role

This critical newly created senior role will be pivotal in leading a function in the provision of independent, objective audit, assurance and advice designed to identify real and potential issues, add value, and improve Lifeblood’s operations.

As the Director, Internal Audit and Risk Assurance you will partner with all levels of the organisation and will develop, implement, and execute an organisation-wide audit, assurance, organisational resilience, and risk management strategy. The strategy will promote compliance with regulations and prevents, minimises, and mitigates risk while safeguarding Lifeblood operations.

In conjunction with the above you will be responsible for the execution of organisation-wide audit policies and processes to assure effective, efficient, and compliant audit and assurance practices and procedures are in place and proactively managed. Accountability also sits with this role to deliver a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of governance, risk management and control processes.

Sound interesting? Here’s what we are looking for;
Tertiary and industry qualifications in commerce and/or business management

Significant experience in internal audit and risk management

Demonstrated experience at senior management level with an ability to work with and influence Boards, Executive and diverse teams working across dispersed locations

Experience in overseeing and driving risk assurance practices in a highly dynamic and regulated environment

Proven track record in providing expert advice into the Executive team with regard to audit, assurance and risk management strategy formulation and implementation

Lead, develop and coach the Internal Audit and Risk Assurance team

Certified Internal Auditor (alternatively CPA/CA)

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with a genuine hybrid working model between Lifeblood offices (on site as needed) and working from home.
