**The Role**

Ventia are currently looking to engage an experienced Tractor and slasher driver/ Grounds Person on a permanent basis. This role will see you maintain the airfield at RAAF Base Pearce, occasionally work within the grounds team, and maintain the broad acre slashers you will be using. This position will also occasionally see you working off base slashing the airfield at RAAF Gingin as well as some fire break maintenance, so the ability to work autonomously is a must. Heavy machinery experience would be desirable. A good portion of the airfield maintenance must be undertaken outside of flying hours (0800 - 2300) so a willingness for early starts is required.
- The Tractor & Slasher position is responsible for, but not limited to;_
- Mowing the airfields at RAAF Pearce and RAAF Gingin.
- Maintaining equipment used.
- Informing supervisor of any parts needed to assist in that maintenance.
- Ability to talk Air Traffic Control via radio (training will be provided).
- Use of plant & equipment such as ride on and push mowers, brush cutters, blowers, edger’s, hedgers, spraying equipment etc.
- General labour
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Current HR class driver’s license
- Plant machinery experience.
- Must have Industry experience in a similar grounds, parks & gardens or landscaping role
- Qualifications in Horticulture or Conservation & Land Management desirable but not essential
- Chemical and Chainsaw certificates desirable but not essential
- Able to Pass a Pre-employment medical including a Drug and Alcohol screen
- Will need a great attitude, a good work ethic and complete tasks without supervision.
