**The Position**
**St John of God Hawkesbury District Health Services **is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW providing acute community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding districts.
- A vacancy for an
- **Assistant in Nursing** is available in our Maria Lock ward on a permanent part time basis of 64 hours per fortnight.
- Working as an Assistant in Nursing under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, you will provide care and comfort for individuals and groups in the Maria Lock ward. You will support individuals in activities of daily living in assisting meeting basic human needs and in observing and reporting changes in individual or group behaviours.

- Applicants must be available to work rostered shifts scheduled between 10pm to 8am, from Monday to Sunday in order to be considered.

- Certificate III in Health Service Assistant or similar; or enrolled as 2/3 Year Nursing Student Undergraduate.
- Recent experience in a similar role in an acute Health Care facility.
- Demonstrate well-developed communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and ability to identify work priorities and plan to meet them.
- Ability to follow instructions from Registered Nurse/Midwives regarding learning requirements and seeks assistance to achieve identified goals.
- Demonstrate effectiveness in working in a team environment.
- Knowledge of principles of manual handling.
- Knowledge of basic cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Knowledge of and commitment to Quality Improvement and Infection Control standards.
