Role Overview

Dell is looking for undergraduates to join Dell’s Finance Development Program (FDP), a global two year rotational program aimed at developing Dell’s future finance leadership.

Location: Chatswood, NSW, Australia

The program combines four, six month rotations with MBA style coursework to provide participants with a wide breadth of experiences and an advanced knowledge of Dell’s finance systems, policies, and processes. In addition, the program offers visibility/networking with managers and executives, career development planning, soft skill training, developmental workshops, and a robust feedback/performance review process.

The sixth month rotations place participants in various finance positions across the organization. Example rotations include Treasury, Global Reporting, Special Pricing, Services, Global Operations, Business Controls, and Financial Planning and Analysis. International assignments are possibilities for top performers for third and fourth rotations - the assignments are heavily dependent on prior program performance and current business needs.

Typical responsibilities within the four assignments include:

- Interactions and reporting responsibilities to senior management and executives
- Statistical analysts, planning, budgeting and forecasting
- Process improvements
- Competitive analysis
- Building analytical models
- OPEX analysis and planning
- Business case analysis and trending analysis
- Internal controls compliance
- Investor analysis and market studies

Day to day you will
- Prepare financial and business related analyses, research and risk assessment in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, revenue recognition, working capital and investments.
- Prepare forecasts and analyze trends in manufacturing, sales, finance, general business conditions, competitors and other related areas within the industry.
- Utilize computer systems to compile and prepare reports, graphs and charts of data developed.
- Assist in the development of business policies, conduct special financial and business related studies, and cooperate with other departments in the preparation of analyses.
- Build and develop relationships with key stakeholders and customers in order to achieve business goals.
- Analyze and evaluate financial plans, including actual and planned results.
- Ensure corporate compliance to government regulations and internal controls.
- Ensure that the internal financial reporting requirements of the company are met
- Assist with developing and maintaining financial models and reports

About you
- Driven, self-starting undergraduates; less thank 12 months work experience
- Pursuing a career in Finance OR Operations
- Minimum GPA of 3.4 or equivalent
- Relevant internship experience
- Interest in expanding global experience
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Agile, innovative thinkers, eager to learn
