About the Business Unit
H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal is a minimum-security men's protection prison located 140klm west of Melbourne at Trawalla. The prison's primary purpose is to prepare male prisoners for transition, reintegration, and release. As a working farm with eight separate industries, there is a strong focus on employment, training, and work readiness.

About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Supervisor, the Finance Team Leader is responsible for leading and managing a team of Justice Officers ensuring the delivery of high quality, efficient financial services to H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal.
The position will provide detailed financial analysis, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting advice to the Finance Supervisor and Regional Managers for allocated cost centres. The position will also be responsible for supporting the Regions annual budget development cycle. As a member of the Finance team, you will be responsible for imparting financial knowledge to staff across the prison. This position may require direct prisoner contact, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS Determination.

**Some of your duties may include**:

- Supervise and lead a small team in the delivery of all finance functions across H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal ensuring best-practice financial, procurement and contract management processes.
- Provide tailored financial and procurement reporting, analysis, advice and support to the Finance Supervisor and Regional Managers.
- Provide support and leadership to the Corporate Services quality assurance program to ensure local operating procedures are maintained, implemented, and periodically reviewed.

About You
- Demonstrate experience in financial management, in particular analysis and reporting, and utilisation of financial management systems.
- Demonstrate experience in compiling performance reports and improving processes and systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualification/Requirement
- A qualification in Finance, Commerce or Accounting is desirable.
