Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a General Manager on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.
**About the Role**:
The CFO Group in the department is seeking to engage a contractor with skill and experience commensurate with an EL2. The Contractor will undertake the following:
**About the team**
The Strategic Performance Management section within the Financial and Shared Services Branch provides strategic workforce planning, including end-to-end procurement delivery, contract management, project management, stakeholder management, on-boarding support and training co-ordination to support the ongoing staffing needs of the branch. This small but specialised team helps to:
- anticipate and address staffing and other resourcing requirements, including dealing with turnover, attrition and complex staffing needs within the branch,
- centralise and streamline a range of functions on behalf of the branch's sections, particularly procurement, contract management and training coordination, and
- build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes.
**About the role**
The Managers role consists of skills and experience in the following:
- leading a small team responsible for a range of contract management services including procurement, negotiation, management of all aspects of finance an service standards, and issues management,
- building productive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders,
- provide strategic direction, management and implementation for workforce planning, recruitment and training,
- ensuring contract and project/program management processes and systems are efficient and effective whilst aligned to business needs and supporting quality decision making and timely delivery,
- providing leadership and day-to-day coordination and conduct of complex procurement activities,
- have excellent communication skills (written and verbal, with well-developed relationship management and liaison skills,
- facilitating people capability uplift through training delivery coordination, management and implementation,
- ability to achieve results by building team capabilities and responsiveness, as well as marshalling professional expertise from other business areas in a rapidly changing and challenging environment, and
- will required well-developed analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
