**About the Health Protection Unit**:
As the Project Lead you will work closely with the Aboriginal Program Manager and Clinical Nurse Consultant offering a wealth of knowledge and experience in Public Health. The Health Protection team works together with the Australian Partnership for Preparedness Research on Infectious Disease Emergencies (APPRISE) to lead targeted research on pandemic preparedness with First Nations communities.

**About the role**:
This exciting opportunity offers a role where no two days are the same. You will play a pivotal role in the engaging communities to implement First Nations Community Panels to explore and develop understanding of public health surveillance with First Nations peoples. You will manage all features of the project activities to introduce the development of an adapted surveillance model to help understand how emerging infectious diseases are transmitted or prevented within First Nations families and households. You will engage with First Nations communities and public health experts to establish, develop and implement Community Panels and disease surveillance strategies in partnership with an Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Organisation.

**About you**:
You will be a strong communicator both written and verbal to support you in providing evidence-based recommendations within tight deadlines to several key stakeholders. Demonstrated research experience with a strong understanding of ethical Research experience with a strong understanding of ethical practices would be desirable.
