**About The Role**

Reporting to the General Manager - Logistics, the primary objective of this role is:

- To lead a Safety first culture, oversee risk, incident and injury management ensuring COS meets WHS compliance and protocols.
- To provide effective support, guidance and advice for all Departments and Leaders at COS with specific focus on warehousing and transport as high-risk areas.
- Encourage and lead with a Care, Concern and Communication mindset.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensure all Team Members at COS receive a relevant and up to date Safety Induction
- Analyse incidents, injuries and hazards, complete incident investigations and prepare reports, identify trends and propose corrective actions for improvement
- Complete workplace safety inspections and risk assessments
- Conduct internal and external audits ensuring compliance to safety standards and policies are maintained. Evaluate findings and
- Be active with Continuous Improvement and Corrective Actions
- Ensure effective Communication and Collaboration of Change
- Maintain national incident, injury and hazard reporting data within the Safety / Compliance Software Program (Mango)
- Champion and deliver safety related training as required including Safety Toolbox Talks
- Develop SOP’s, implement internal auditing to ensure currency and oversee employee training across required SOP’s
- Chair the National WHS Committee
- Ensure emergency procedures and emergency personnel remain current for all locations
- Ensure compliance regarding the completion of regular reviews and inspections Logistics Plant and Machinery:

- MHE
- Trucks & Vans
- Warehouse Automation
- Waste Equipment
- Interpret and ensure the Company remains current with all relevant legislation across all States and Territories ensuring best practice as reasonably practicable is implemented
- Review WHS policies in accordance with legislation updates and communicate these changes to all stakeholders of the business
- Ability to create policies where a gap is identified
- Support the leader of the Company’s ISO Accreditation in maintaining
- Safety (45001),
- Quality (9001)
- Environment (14001)
- Support continual improvements to the IMS
- Design, deliver and maintain internal training for Leaders, HSR;s to ensure operational readiness and competency across all HSE responsibilities
- External training when compliance requires
- Oversee and implement Dangerous Goods requirements
- Develop, lead and champion Chain of Responsibility requirements
- Proactively manage workers compensation claims, liaising with treating doctors, insurance companies and rehabilitation providers, as well as manage the return to work of injured employees

**About You**
- Previous employment and minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Tertiary level WHS qualification
- Minimum Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent
- Incident investigation (RCA) training
- Exposure to working within warehousing and transport environments
- Lead Auditor experience
- Previous Injury Management and Return to Work Coordination experience
- Previous exposure with ISO auditing (internal and external) processes
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, with excellent organisational skills including the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- MS Office (Intermediate) Experience Office365, Excel, Access, Word, Visio, Publisher, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint Event
- Demonstrated professional approach and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong sense of confidentiality
- Sound judgment, decision making and problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrate strong coaching and mentoring ability to influence and guide team members at all levels, front-line personnel and leaders
- Drivers licence
- Ability to travel interstate as required
