**What’s the role?**

We write national and international news as well as the latest in entertainment, finance, technology, lifestyle, travel and sport. As a News Editor you will set the news agenda for our online audience, utilising your digital and search experience and ability to leverage data to engage our readership and develop our audience.
- Keep your finger on the pulse of the Australian audience by analysing what’s trending and knowing exactly what is going on across our nation and the world
- Set the news agenda and frame our position on the stories we deliver
- Deliver breaking stories, bringing a unique viewpoint to the topic and engaging our readership
- Connect with existing and new readers across multiple platforms, including search and social
- Commission and edit content to rolling deadlines
- Work under deadline pressure in a fast paced newsroom
- Lead, inspire and develop reporters to deliver engaging and informative content

**Who are you?**
- Have previous journalism experience across either as an editing role, or as a senior reporter who’s looking for their next step
- Digital experience, including experience within a digital newsroom
- Ability to produce creative ideas and to initiate new and innovative approaches to storytelling
- Exceptional writing skills.
- Ability to handle pressure, work to tight deadlines and think on your feet
- Confidence across social media channels and extensive prior search experience
- Ability to understand and utilise data to make informed decisions
