Support Worker - Community Access (Hornsby, NSW)
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate **Support Worker** to assist a participant with accessing the community.
**About the Role**:
Support a participant who is **non-verbal** and living with **Autism and Tourette’s Syndrome**.

Facilitate safe and engaging **community access activities**.

Provide consistent, person-centred support in line with the participant’s behaviour and support plans.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum **2 years’ experience** supporting individuals with complex needs.
- Must hold a valid **driver’s licence** and be comfortable transporting the participant.
- Strong behaviour management skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak **clear English** for effective team and family communication.
- Knowledge and understanding of Autism, Tourette’s, and sensory regulation techniques. ( not required but is an added bonus)
- Ability to work independently and follow established support strategies.

**Desirable**:

- First Aid and CPR certificates.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.

**Desirable (added bonus)**:

- Knowledge and understanding of Autism, Tourette’s, and sensory regulation techniques.
- Experience with non-verbal communication methods (PECS, AAC, etc.).
