Victoria University (VU) is inviting expressions of interest from qualified and experienced Primary educators for sessional teaching roles across our Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programs at Bachelor and Master levels.

**About the Role**

Sessional teaching includes a minimum commitment of approximately **9 hours per week**, encompassing class delivery, preparation, and assessment. Teaching may be conducted **in person or online in real time**, with **day and evening classes**offered across Melbourne metropolitan locations.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Deliver ITE units to pre-service teachers
- Teach in a range of formats, including face-to-face, blended, block, and online real-time modes
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessment
- Collaborate with fellow sessional and ongoing academic staff
- Adhere to Victoria University’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

**Essential Attributes**
- Recent classroom experience in the primary education sector
- VIT registration or a current Working with Children Check
- Proficiency in using educational technology

**Desirable Attributes**
- Specialisation in literacy, numeracy, and/or inclusive education
- Experience with phonics-based instructional approaches

**Teaching Model**

VU teaches using the **Block Model**, in which units are delivered one at a time over a four-week period. Sessional staff may teach up to **two classes per block**, totalling **up to 18 teaching hours per week**. **Block Model**.
