**The Role**:
Are you a communications and campaigns specialist, with a passion for social policy and a desire to work for the wellbeing of all Australians?

We are seeking experienced Public Affairs Officers for multiple long term opportunities at APS 5 and 6 levels, to support the department to deliver portfolio outcomes by providing a range of communication services including strategic communications, campaigns and public relations, and media services.

You will have the opportunity to work across the communication profession, including strategic communication, public relations, stakeholder engagement, advertising campaigns and social media. The main focus of your role will depend on the individual needs of the section.

These are initially 12 month APS 5 and APS 6 labour hire contracts, with potential for a 12 month extension. Tuggeranong location with some flexibility across hours and the ability to negotiate working from home 2 days per week. Unfortunately, S26 is not an option.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supporting Communication Account Managers in the delivery of communication activities
- Working in a small team to assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of integrated communication plans and strategies
- Maintaining successful relationships with policy and program areas, anticipating and assessing their strategic communication needs
- Developing communication materials for various audiences, which may include social media and web content, communication and stakeholder products, videos and accessible formats
- Coordinating the procurement and management of communication contracts and liaising with external suppliers to ensure successful outcomes
- Monitoring and reporting on the implementation of strategic communication initiatives
- Working effectively as part of a team to deliver results and effectively manage personal workloads with mínimal supervision
- Cultivating successful internal and external relationships, while positively contributing to the ongoing culture of the Campaigns and Strategic Communication Branch

**About You**:

- A passion for social policy, and the wellbeing of all Australians
- Proven oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in a public affairs, strategic communication, campaign or social media team in the public or private sector
- Essential : Relevant tertiary qualification Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related
- Australian citizenship with either a baseline clearance or ability to obtain one
