Your Opportunity
As the Subject Matter Expert, Educational Planning System, you will be responsible for:
Working within a multi-disciplinary project team to successfully deliver and implement an ICT project in accordance with project timeframes and attention to detail in deliverables and project milestones.
Being involved in the research, analysis, evaluation and provision of advice on business and/or system requirements and the implementation of recommended solutions as required to achieve the objectives of the project within TAFE Queensland.
Having the opportunity to gain new technical skills associated with the selected new system platform and integration.
Leading project activities that are developed, documented and coordinated in conjunction with established guidelines and schedules.
This position reports to the Project Manager, Educational Planning System.
This is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, until June 2026 unless otherwise determined.
The successful applicant can negotiate to work from any TAFE Queensland campus.
Key Responsibilities
Provide detailed expert advice and guidance to users, leaders and other team members across all functional areas of TAFE Queensland's Educational Planning system and associated interfaces.
Provide high level expertise in the following functional areas of Educational Planning:
Educational activity planning (Business Processes, Annual Plans, Scheduling, Timetabling and creation of data for the TQ Student Management System).
Research, analyse, evaluate and advise on business and systems requirements and document recommended solutions required to achieve the objectives of the project.
Keep informed of Higher Education and VET policy, sector trends, legislative and technological innovations that affect educational planning, by developing and maintaining internal and external networks.
Participate in a multi-disciplinary professional project team, undertake project tasks and contribute to deliverables to support the specific scope and objectives of the project.
Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of project plans and schedules, including the coordination of activities associated with achieving the project objectives.
Work independently when required to achieve agreed project outcomes.
Assist in the development and implementation of quality management procedures to ensure a high-quality outcome for the project and solution adoption.
Assist in the development and delivery of training and information sessions to stakeholders and key staff in relation to the new solutions.
Work closely with the project team and regional stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and engagement.
Undertake productive stakeholder engagement, liaise and build mutually productive working relationships with TAFE Queensland corporate and regional entities to support the outcomes of the project.

Demonstrated high level of analytical, conceptual and innovative problem-solving skills including the ability to independently research, analyse, develop and recommend options and implement solutions to enhance business performance and improve business processes.
Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, establish priorities, use initiative and be proactive in raising and dealing with issues.
Proven experience working in Project teams to deliver complex ICT systems including an ability to articulate practical strategies for the resolution of project requirements and outcomes within tight timeframes and deadlines.
Highly developed communication and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of key internal regional stakeholders and ability to build positive relationships in an environment of change.
Demonstrated ability to live and promote a strong team culture that values the contributions of all team members, is honest and considerate, and through that contributes to a highly respected high-performing team.
