**Youth Worker - Carlow House - Part

**About the role**
Do you have a passion for helping and empowering others, working independently and supporting those who need guidance? Our Carlow House program provides medium
- term, 24 hour youth supported accommodation for young people aged 16-19 years old who are currently homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Young people can stay at Carlow House for approximately 9 months and must be engaged in or willing to engage in employment, education, or training.
We walk alongside young people and empower them to learn new skills, build their confidence, self-esteem, strong relationships, and support networks for moving into private or shared accommodation and adulthood. This role would help implement support plans, foster connections with family and carers of young people, plan and participate in activities, as well as assisting in the overall social and emotional development of the young people living at Carlow House.
We are currently recruiting for a Part
- time permament psoition of 54 hours per fortnight. Day shifts are from 7am - 5:30pm, afternoon shifts are between 5:15pm - 11pm and sleep shifts are 11pm - 7:15am on both weekdays and weekends.
**About you**
You’ll have a passion for supporting young people to reach their goals and have excellent relationship building skills. Along with this, you’ll also have:
- Certificate III in Youth Work or relevant Human Services qualification is desirable
- Experience supporting young people with complex needs in a residential setting
- Prior experience working with young people wo have experienced homelessness is beneficial
- Have the ability to work weekday shifts
- Ability to work independently in a lone worker model
- Drivers Licence
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current Provide First Aid
- COVID and Influenza vaccinations are preferred but not required
- National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
