**Your role**

The purpose of the Aboriginal Project Officer role is to manage and implement a range of projects with a Cultural lens, in line with the Department of Communities and Justice Cultural Development and Learning Strategy, to provide an organisation wide approach for a continuum of cultural learning opportunities for all DCJ employees.

**What you’ll do**

As part of the Cultural Development and Learning Team in the Employee Experience and Learning Directorate you will:

- Lead and manage projects delivered under the Cultural Development and Learning Strategy
- Undertaking research and analysis to support the development of key projects and the improvement of processes across Employee Experience and Learning
- Managing and overseeing certain areas of projects and implementations, including developing and monitoring project plans, coordinating resources, and monitoring budgets to ensure successful project milestones are met inclusive of a cultural lens
- Delivering assigned projects and processes within agreed upon deadlines and quality standards
- Liaising and working across Department Divisions and non-government stakeholders to ensure effective interface between program development, planning, service design and strategy implementation with cultural sensitivity and cultural understanding.

You'll work as part of a Culturally supported agile team of five located across NSW, with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement. You will contribute to improving organisational workplace culture in improving the Departments opportunities to grow Cultural Confidence/Intelligence.

**What we’re looking for**
- It is fundamental that you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait islander person who has a demonstrated strong understanding of Aboriginal people, lived experience, culture, history, connection and relationship with Aboriginal communities, organisations, ways of working and history
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- High level of autonomy and ability to meet competing deadlines
- Ability to liaise with a wide range of differing stakeholders (both internal and external)
- Experience working on a range of projects
