**The Position**
- Position Title: Consultant Cardiologist - Diagnostic Cardiology
- Classification: HN16 - HN56
- Salary per hour (exc. super): $148.40 - $193.10 dependent on Specialist Year level
- Hours per fortnight: 21
- Employment Status: Part-Time ongoing (Fractional Specialist)
- Other requirements: COVID-19 Vaccination

**Role Description**
- Reporting to the Clinical Unit Head Cardiology, the Consultant Cardiologist will perform 3 sessions per week in Diagnostic Cardiology: 2 x stress echocardiography study sessions and 1 x TTE reading and reporting session.

**The Team**
- The Cardiology department is responsible for patients in several departments including inpatient wards, emergency department, ICU/CCU in addition to Cath Lab, Diagnostic Cardiology and Cardiology outpatients. The team consists of Cardiologists, Cardiac nurses, Cardiac technologists and Cardiac Sonographers, a Cardiology registrar and an intern. This position will be expected to participate in the on call roster as required.

**Selection Criteria**
- Essential : MBBS FRACP or equivalent degree enabling full unconditional registration with AHPRA
- Essential : Hold a Fellow membership of the college training program
- Essential : Clinical experience working in a major hospital at a senior level in Cardiology
- Essential : Subspecialty training in Cardiac Imaging (echocardiography)
- Essential : Evidence of on-going professional development to continually update personal medical knowledge and skills
- Essential : Thorough understanding of the relevant legislation pertaining to Medical Officers
- Essential : Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Desirable : Echocardiography including transthoracic echo, exercise and pharmacologic stress echo, transoesophageal echo Certification in CT coronary angiogram and Cardiac MRI are desired qualifications but not essential.
