**Job location**

Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria.

We address the needs of people experiencing mental health issues, the mental health sector, the justice sector and the general community. These services are delivered through inpatient services at Thomas Embling Hospital, community services through the Community Forensic Mental Health Service and prison-based services at several locations. This position will be based at Thomas Embling Hospital, Fairfield and will get the opportunity to work across all Forensicare sites.

**About the Role**:

- Work within a team of both other Occupational Therapy Clinical Educators, and educators from all disciplines.
- Work within a growing and expanding team of Occupational Therapists (from students, pre-qualification to Senior clinicians) to strenghten and support their clinical practice, processes and knowledge.
- Design, develop and facilitate learning and development approaches to support Occupational Therapists commencing work within forensic mental health, with an emphasis on utilising the Model of Human Occupation to guide practice.

**Duties**:

- Develop and facililtate learning and development sessions.
- Provide clinical supervision and discipline leadership to Occupational Therapists.
- Collaborate on the development of an discipline focused knowledge and learning plan, including supporting key learnings for staff commencing in mental health/forensic mental health.
- Contrbute to the development of local service practice processes and quality initiatives to ensure that education is sustainable and translates to changes in clinical practice.

**About You**:

- Be familiar with the Model of Human Occupation and its approaches in mental health.
- Be passionate about the art and science of Occupational Therapy in mental health, forensic mental health and secure environments.
- Have experience in developing and delivering learning and development sessions and addressing learning needs.
- Experiences in providing clinical supervision (individual and/or group).
- High quality verbal and written communications skills.
- Experience in leading projects would be desirable

- Approved degree in Occupational Therapy recognised for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia - Australian Association of Occupational Therapists.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).**A culture where people matter.**

Successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of COVID-19 Vaccination prior to commencing work at Forensicare. Under the Victorian Public Health orders, all employees working within the Public Health system must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The current orders require evidence of three doses.
