**Your SUPER career starts here**
As one of Australia's largest profit-for-members superannuation funds, we always remember whose money it is and whose future we're looking after. We work to reimagine a new way forward for our 1.1 million members and their communities. Each other. And our world.
**Your New Role**
As an Investment Analyst in the Infrastructure team, you’ll play a key role in supporting the origination, execution, due diligence and management of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure investments (direct and fund investments). This will involve building and operating complex financial modelling, creating/presenting investment committee papers for investment recommendations and monitoring the delivery of the investment case of an investment. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, contribute to investment decisions, and help drive performance across both domestic and offshore assets.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Financial modelling of investment opportunities, including scenario analysis to identify key risks and due diligence areas.
- Prepare and present investment recommendation papers to decision-making bodies.
- Assist in generating new ideas and deal flow through industry research and stakeholder engagement.
- Create a focus list of investments aligned with strategy and portfolio construction guidelines.
- Contribute to investment strategy development and thematic research.
- Conduct and coordinate investment due diligence, including building and maintaining investment models and preparing detailed reports.
- Work with external advisors to conduct asset due diligence.
- Assist in coordinating deal teams across support groups (legal, finance, tax, ESG, treasury, operations, risk, corporate affairs, brand) and with external advisers.
- Support ongoing active management of the existing portfolio and individual investments to drive performance and ensure business plans are delivered.
- Contribute to team culture, demonstrating a willingness to go above and beyond for members.
- Participate in industry forums.
- Support other team members by sharing knowledge, providing assistance, and fostering communication across Aware Super teams.
- Drive continual improvement initiatives to simplify and enhance investment processes.
- Identify innovations and opportunities to remove duplication and complexity.
- Contribute to building Aware Super’s capacity through self-development, teamwork, and acting in members’ best interests.
- Adhere to and demonstrate Aware Super’s beliefs, values, spirit, and purpose.
- Simultaneously consider commercial/financial risks and ESG/reputational risks in all investments.
- Lead by example in workplace health and safety.
**How do you exceed our expectations?**
- Strong academic qualifications (minimum tertiary undergraduate level).
- 2-3 years’ industry experience in advisory, management consulting, or investments.
- Ideally, some experience gained from direct investment transactions.
- Strong knowledge of debt & equity capital markets and funds management across traditional and infrastructure-like investments, both domestically and offshore.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including persuasion and influencing.
- Strong financial modelling, analytical, and report writing capabilities.
- Commercial judgement, common sense, and a focus on optimising risk-reward.
- Innovative problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on service delivery excellence.
- Results-oriented, with excellent attention to detail and administrative ability.
- Respectful, ethical, and committed to safe, fair, and honest workplace behaviour.
- Willingness to be bold, think creatively, lead, and challenge.
- Proactive in taking responsibility and ownership, with a focus on self-awareness and self-improvement.
Ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritise, and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative, inquisitive, and positive mindset, with a strong interest in investments and private markets.
