Reference Data Lead

**About the role**

Reporting into the Process Governance Manager this role is responsible for leading the Data and Process Governance team (DPG), whose role is to maintain key reference datasets that underpin claiming activity. These key datasets include various hospital, medical and ancillary service items relating to both Medibank and ahm Private Health Insurance products.

Alongside management of all the operational workflows related to the reference data sets, and continuously improving processes that support the accuracy and validity of the data, the lead’s role includes responsibilities of people leadership for the DPG team members..

You will also:

- Enable and mentor team members to develop and pursue achievement of big goals and complete actions on development plans
- Drive cross-skilling in DPG workflow items so that all team members can complete all workflow tasks
- Ensure all operational workflow activities performed by the lead and the team are completed accurately and within required timeframes, supported by agreed operating rhythms
- Proactively communicate to Process Governance Manager and other stakeholders and forums regarding the progress, prioratisation, risks and issues related to the workflows and initiatives
- Work cohesively with the Process Governance Manager to ensure consistent messaging across and beyond Data and Process Governance team
- Guide the team to enhance data management processes, tools and capabilities by contributing to continuous improvement activities
- Monitor for and highlight divergent workflow processes, gathering root cause information and designing and testing solutions

You might have operational leadership experience within an environment with data management workflows

You are a little obsessive about monitoring, managing and developing reporting on team workflow, task completion, productivity.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills are essential for this role and also excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify rootcauses and recommend solutions.

You will also be knowledge in and have experience in using SQL, Excel macros/VB scripts to fetch and analyse data.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role. Your ability to build and manage multiple relationships with stakeholders will also see you succeed in this role.
