**The Role**:
Are you an exceptional writer who can simplify language, make it accessible to various audiences, and can champion style and voice as needed?

We are seeking a passionate Copywriter to create exceptional copy for print and digital collateral to promote projects and programs, engagement presentations and narratives that support the Departments brand and deliverables, and corporate collateral.

Working alongside similar creative and specialist content producers, the Copywriter is a team player working with others to tell the story of the Department. You will hold the pen on the voice of the department, and be called upon for your creative mind to build strong narratives and storytelling.

**VPS5 Equivalent Rate |Six-month contract| Immediate start**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and deliver high-quality copy for use in print, online and multimedia collateral and departmental events
- Work collaboratively across the branch and division to deliver effective communications that are of a high written and visual standard, and which comply with departmental and whole-of-Victorian Government guidelines
- Initiate and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and seek opportunities to engage stakeholders to develop and execute high quality communications services
- Implement new ideas and ways of working and embrace innovative practices to continually improve communications effectiveness and branch performance
- Lead other initiatives or projects within the Communications and Engagement Branch, as required
- Identify story opportunities and any risks or issues associated with them and provide authoritative advice on how to manage them
- Be responsible for appropriate documentation relating to communications planning and implementation

**About You**:

- Edits written communications to ensure they contain the information necessary to achieve their purpose and meet audience needs, ensuring appropriate style and formats are used
- Sets clearly defined objectives and priorities and operates accordingly, reviewing and adjusting as required
- Uses understanding of the client or stakeholder's organisational context to tailor services and ensure a high quality response
- generates new ideas, drawing on a range of information sources
- actively influences communications services, translates creative ideas into improvements
- A tertiary qualification in communications, journalism, public relations or an associated discipline is highly desirable
- Demonstrated proficiency (intermediate to advanced) in the Microsoft Office suite is required. Familiarity with Asana would be well regarded
