**MCV**

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

**About the Role**

The Family Violence Registrar contributes to the Court's response to family violence, working alongside the judiciary, court registrars, support workers, police, legal services and other support services to effectively manage cases involving victims and perpetrators of family violence. The Family Violence Registrar builds relationships with key stakeholders, establishes and maintains links with community services and agencies in their local area, promotes information sharing amongst agencies and makes appropriate referrals.

The position operates within a complex, demanding and sensitive environment that requires the capacity to exercise sound judgement. The Family Violence Registrar provides a point of specialist contact for court users involved in proceedings arising from or including allegations o ffamily violence, assists parties to understand court processes and services available, and liaises with all legal and non-legal suppor tservices.

This position works collaboratively with the Court Coordinator regarding the listing of matters that relate to family violence and intervention orders. As part of the network of Family Violence Registrars, the role also works collaboratively with the Family Violence Programs and Initiatives Unit to improve service delivery.
The Family Violence Registrar leads the Court's family violence team within their region, in conjunction with senior management. They will provide supervision and monitor the performance of the members of this team.

**About You**

You will hold a Certificate IV in Government(Court Services) or equivalent.
