Part of the CSR Group, our Logistics Business Unit has been created to embed leading practice logistics & supply chain solutions across CSR to establish a platform for growth capability, customer service and efficiency. Our aim is to improve safety, service, people, and costs whilst contributing to, and delivering the strategic change for the benefit of CSR and our customers.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Based at out Yarraville site, CSR is seeking a dynamic, influential Transport Operations Manager who will lead a team focussed on the transport operations and distribution of CSR products. In this role you will be responsible for meeting our commitment to our customer through the provision of quality service and operational efficiency whilst leading a transport team across multiple sites and brands.
Working in collaboration with our people, every decision you make will be driven by safety, service and cost, offering the highest level of customer satisfaction while exceeding operational and financial metrics. You will manage our network of transport providers and take ownership in identifying and delivering continuous improvement initiatives, training and developing staff and adhering to CSR's policies and procedures while promoting a safety-first culture and ensuring commitment to Safety, COR and Quality requirements at all times.

**About the role**:

- With the recent investment in our new transport management system, this role will lead a team of transport professionals with a focus on load planning, vehicle utilisation and service level.
- Effective management, collaboration and development of the transport team to provide efficiency.
- Analyse equipment and operational tasks to deliver productive outcomes through resource utilisation and route optimisation.
- Supporting relationship management and commitment to achieving contracted KPIs.
- Champion a customer-centric mindset in all team activities, ensuring customer service excellence is at the heart of every decision.
- Set and uphold gold-standard benchmarks for operational excellence, optimising resources for peak efficiency.
- As a key member of the national transport team, inspire and lead by setting high standards and behaviours.
- Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement, constantly seeking innovative ways to boost productivity and safety.
- Strategically plan, coordinate, and direct team in daily workflow management, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and achievement of timeframes, productivity targets, and other KPIs.
- Make informed and prompt decisions on day-to-day operational matters within your purview, following delegated authority.
- Direct, coordinate, and deploy resources (labour, equipment) effectively to meet operational, productivity, commercial, and customer needs.
- Manage team performance, conduct, productivity issues, absenteeism, and leave requirements, consulting with relevant stakeholders as needed.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and support to team.
- Lead and actively participate in toolbox sessions, driving meaningful discussions.
- Collaborate with broader logistics team and internal stakeholders to meet and exceed expectations and plans.
- Management of transport cost performance against budget.

**About you**:

- 5+ years managing Transport Operations and teams.
- Demonstrated transport operational experience including planning and compliance or in a similar role ideally working with distribution of bulky goods or building materials.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the transport industry, transport equipment and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements of each jurisdiction in the region.
- High levels of interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills to enable effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders and partners to deliver customer-focused outcomes.
- Have a strong analytical and critical commercial mindset for evaluating and ensuring the optimal solution or priority.
