At TAFE NSW, we are dedicated to life-changing impact.

That’s why we offer world-class training and education that delivers the skills needed for the jobs of today and tomorrow.

Life-changing impact starts with an incredible team that sees their career as an opportunity to transform someone’s world. Whether that’s inspiring students, supporting each other, or helping our communities and industries flourish.

We live by TAFE NSW values: Customer Focus, Integrity, Collaboration, and Excellence. They define who we are, how we work and inspire our performance.

**We invest in our people**

At TAFE NSW, you will discover a diverse, dynamic, and collaborative environment, where you can innovate, create value, and do meaningful work.

We provide you with tools and ongoing training and professional development, health and wellbeing programs, and depending on your role, a 35-hour working week with a variety of flexible working options.

**About the role**

As the Portfolio Reporting Lead within Portfolio Governance and Monitoring Services (PGMS), you will shape how TAFE NSW understands, communicates, and makes decisions about its diverse and complex $200 million-plus project portfolio. This senior role combines strategic influence with hands-on delivery, using Power BI as the primary platform for portfolio performance reporting and insight generation.

You will lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of enterprise dashboards and data models that translate complex information into clear, meaningful insights for executives and governance forums. Your work will integrate data from multiple sources, ensure accuracy and consistency, and deliver thematic and performance analysis that informs evidence-based decisions and strengthens portfolio maturity.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will translate their needs into purposeful data and reporting solutions. Your ability to interpret context, connect information, and tell a clear story will be key to supporting effective governance and confident decision-making. With a pragmatic and forward-looking approach, you will advance data capability across the organisation, enhancing visibility of performance, risk, and value across the enterprise.

**About You**

You are an experienced portfolio reporting professional who can turn data into insight and insight into influence. Equally comfortable operating at both the strategic and operational levels, you shape executive understanding of performance trends while ensuring reporting remains accurate, consistent, and meaningful.

You bring strong analytical capability, curiosity, and sound judgement to your work. You take time to understand the intent behind stakeholder requests and the underlying questions decision-makers are seeking to answer. Your work is grounded in data integrity, supported by advanced technical expertise in Power BI, and elevated through the ability to connect information and communicate findings through clear, compelling narratives.

Equivalent practical experience, or certification such as Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300), would be highly regarded as evidence of hands-on capability in data modelling, DAX, report development, and administration within the Power BI Service. You value collaboration, consistency, and continuous improvement, and you are motivated by helping others see the bigger picture behind the numbers.
