**About the Centre/Service**

Botany Park Preschool is a stand-alone sessional kindergarten that is co located with Maternal Child Health. It is a long-established kindergarten and is proud of its long-standing positive contribution to the community. We educate one four year old group of children and one three year old group of children. We are a committee run community kindergarten managed by volunteer parents and we are lucky to have a wonderful extensive outdoor space including an undercover deck and a spacious room that is well resourced. The staff pride themselves on being welcoming and strive to work with all families to support child/ren to reach their potential. These first few years of education are so important as they set a child up for life. We want our children to be valued for who they are and know that everyone brings something special to our community. We are a child safe organisation and have zero tolerance for child abuse. We are an inclusive setting always striving to learn together and improve upon our service.

**Description**

**Description of the Role**: Botany Park Preschool committee of Management is looking to employ a Cert 111 or Diploma Qualified Educator to work as the third staff member of our team teaching the 3 year old group. **The successful applicant will be required to have**: Learning curriculum:

- Sound understanding of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and/or Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
- Demonstrated understanding of early childhood development and its importance in program planning.
- Ability to design, implement, and evaluate a holistic curriculum where each child’s current knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities, and interests are the foundation of a play-based learning environment.

Communication and interpersonal skills:

- Strong communication skills with the ability to build secure, respectful, and reciprocal relationships with children, families, approved provider and colleagues.
- Able to communicate effectively, listen actively, and respond appropriately to children and families from diverse backgrounds.
- High level of interpersonal skills and empathy and sensitivity when children and families are experiencing adversity.
- Demonstrated awareness of the ECA Code of Ethics and organisation's Code of Conduct.

Knowledge of legislation:

- Knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011.
- Understanding of the National Quality Standards (NQS).
- Understanding of the purpose and expectations of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organisation in both practice and culture.
- Knowledge and understanding of mandatory reporting requirements.
- Understanding of the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS), Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS), and Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM).

- The ability to plan, work, and manage time effectively with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a cooperative, flexible, and professional manner with children, parents, staff, and approved provider.
