Assist Ability Australia are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional Disability Support Worker with at least **1 year of experience in complex care and high behavioural needs** to join our team in Brooklyn & surrounds. (Western Suburbs)

**About the Role**

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals with complex needs. This role requires someone who is reliable, patient, and capable of handling challenging behaviours with a proactive and person-centred approach.

As a Disability Support Worker with Assist Ability Australia, you will provide essential care, assistance, and support to individuals with disabilities in various settings, including homes, community, and residential environments. You will assist participants with personal care, mobility, and communication, contributing to their overall well-being and independence. You will also support participants in following therapy plans, ensuring that their care is person-centred and respectful of their individual needs.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Deliver complex care, including assisting with personal care, mobility, and medication.
- Provide support to individuals with high behavioural needs using evidence-based strategies.
- Encourage clients to achieve their goals and promote independence.
- Assist with daily activities, community access, and engagement.
- Document and report client progress accurately.

**Requirements**:

- **Minimum 1 year of experience in complex care and supporting high behavioural needs**.
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services, or equivalent (preferred).
- Availability for **minimum 8-hour shifts during the day, at least 4 days per week** (flexible roster options available).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and families.
- **Compliance Documents**:

- Current driver's licence
- Car Registration Details
- Car Insurance Certificate showing Comprehensive Car Insurance
- Own vehicle
- NDIS Workers Screening Check
- Certificate of completion for NDIS worker orientation module (Quality, Safety and You)
- Infection Prevention & Control Module (Not older than 12 months)
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid (Less than 3 years old) & CPR (Not older than 12 months) Certificates
- National Police Check, not older than 12 months
- If you are a visa holder, a copy of your VEVO Check indicating working rights
