**Position Information**:
Kanahooka High School is a comprehensive secondary school with a Support Unit which has nine classes, located in Southern Illawarra region. The student population of 655 has been increasing over the last few years. Our school community is culturally diverse with 18% of students identifying as having an Aboriginal background and 5% of students have a non-English speaking background. Students participate in a wide range of learning experiences that focus on academic improvement and excellence.

**Selection Criteria**:
- Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (secondary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (secondary) in regular classes. Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.
- Evidence of highly developed organisation, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team and build positive relationships with staff, students, parents and the wider community, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
- Skills and/or experience in developing, implementing and evaluating individual student plans.
- Capacity to co-teach with mainstream teachers to focus on developing positive learning environments for all students, in all classes in a complex high school setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Wellbeing, Learning and Support team to implement whole school initiatives that address school priorities.
