**The Role**
Within the Collins Class Submarine Life of Type Extension (LOTE) the Project Scheduler will be responsible to the planning, development, and maintenance of the LOTE project schedules. This will require:
- Extraction of relevant elements from supplier schedules and updating the LOTE schedules.
- Suggest management of risks affecting project scope, costs, and schedules.
- Support project management team to maintain timely and effective change management processes, procedures and systems.
- Assist project team to develop and maintain periodic status reports to keep management informed on project progress.
- Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.
- Interact with project managers and financial controller to report cost and schedule performance data.
- Interact with project staff to schedule work and coordinate assignments.
- Interact with project team to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules, cost information and identification of variances from plan.
- Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas.
- Utilise Open Plan Professional (OPP) for which proficiency is required.
- Ensure the output produced from the schedule are realistic and match the narrative that accompanies the project.
- Build productive working relationships with the team and managing the outputs of the schedule via a regular team update.
**About our Team**
The Collins Submarine Program within the National Shipbuilding Sustainment Group (NSSG) is responsible for the maintenance and programmed upgrade of Australia’s Collins Class submarines. The Program works in partnership with the Royal Australian Navy and Industry to deliver the strategic submarine capability to the nation.

Essential to the role is previous scheduling experience and could be in many forms. Proficiency with scheduling tools would be beneficial, particularly Open Plan Professional (OPP) and Microsoft Project.
Previous experience in project management or familiarity with project management principles are not essential but would enable the successful applicant to understand the role easily.
Awareness of systems engineering principles or discipline-based engineering studies are not essential but would enable the successful applicant to excel in the role.
The successful applicant must have the ability to work in a medium-sized team to gain the required information to maintain the schedules that they will be responsible for maintaining.
They will also need to have the ability to communicate updates from the schedule to the team project on a regular basis.
