The Bureau's Disaster Risk Policy (DRP) team, within Hazard Preparedness and Response - National section (HPR National) are seeking to fill a number of roles with dedicated and capable staff. DRP team leads national engagement, committee coordination and public policy input into key Commonwealth and national bodies and agencies working across the emergency management continuum.

The successful applicant will be a flexible self-starter who enjoys a diverse range of work and has strong written and verbal communication skills, project and/or stakeholder management experience and who can work to deadlines. Applicants must be team players who can work collaboratively, produce written material drawing on a range of inputs, and support colleagues and stakeholders to solve problems and achieve objectives.

The team is focused on the coordination of national committees and sector engagement as well as coordination of written inputs in support of our work with the EM sector and at times the broader Australian public. Primary responsibilities include building strategic relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders, assess and progress the impact and value of Bureau services particularly through the Bureau's effective representation on over 40 committees. The foundation of the role is Secretariat work for committees led by the Bureau, in particular the Hazard Services Forum, however this is our basic role on which we aim to build broader engagement in public policy. This role will collaborate with diverse internal stakeholders to coordinate the Bureau's commitments relating to seasonal briefings and in support of schedules of work relevant to hazard services.
