The Opportunity

Cochlear has an opportunity for a Biostatistician based in our Sydney, office. In this role, the successful Biostatistician will work within the Biostatistics function to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality in input to the design, analysis and reporting of clinical studies. Responsibilities include:

- Collaborate and provide advice on study design, randomisation, and data-related issues.
- Create accurate, efficient, and well-documented programs that translate the clinical investigation plan (CIP) and statistical analysis plan (SAP) requirements to programmed outputs to meet reporting requirements (tables, figures, and listings) for clinical investigation reports (CIR), publications, presentations, and other medical communications.
- Ensure data and analyses are represented and interpreted correctly and provide feedback on CIRs and/or dissemination activities (presentations, publications). Produce accurate and timely reports for Independent Data Monitoring Committee (IDMC) and annual reporting to regulatory agencies.
- Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve timely delivery of business goals across multiple competing projects.

About You:
As we grow our operations, we are looking for people who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Essential:

- Minimum 4+ years of related work experience in the medical device industry, pharmaceutical industry, at a contract research organisation, or in academia as a study statistician.
- Understanding of clinical trials methodologies and data management principles for clinical trials and medical research.
- Applied knowledge of advanced statistical methods, such as generalised linear models, survival analyses, mixed models, and similar.
- Curiosity of mind, a desire to learn and contribute, and a “can do” attitude.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to see the impact of decisions in the larger context while remaining focused on the detail and implementation.
- Strong programming skills relating to the handling and reporting of clinical trials data. “R” skills are desirable.
- Works according to high ethical standards.
- Keeps abreast of regulatory requirements relating to the reporting of trial data.
