ASIC is seeking a full time Agency Security Adviser to join their Protective Security Team
- Permanent position based in Sydney or Canberra
- Salary range up to $188,778 (plus 15.4% superannuation) depending on experience

The team
The Chief Risk Office is the custodian of enterprise risk management, business resilience, protective security and compliance management across ASIC.
The ASIC Protective Security team focuses on ensuring that the Agency's information, physical and protective security arrangements are effective and meet the requirements of the Protective Security Policy Framework. The Protective Security team is also responsible for ASIC's baseline vetting program, security investigations, physical security at all ASIC sites, and working closely with ASIC's Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to provide holistic approach to Agency security.

The role

**As an Agency Security Adviser, you will be required to**:

- drive a culture of security at ASIC and identify innovative solutions and strategies to deliver security management services to a high standard.
- in collaboration with the CISO, establish and execute ASIC's security strategy and actively enable ASIC to achieve its corporate plan objectives.
- set the strategic direction for the Protective Security at ASIC and championing change, including providing strategic and operational security support to ASIC Senior Management and staff.
- ensure ASIC's suitability assessment and baseline vetting program is effective and undertaken in accordance with Government Policy and Standards.
- research, analyse and provide high level advice to senior leaders and stakeholders on a variety of personnel, physical, protective, and international security matters.
- manage, implement, update and monitor ASIC's protective security policies, procedures and systems.
- manage the physical security of the agency, including after-hours incidents and devising preventative measures.
- analyse and interpret security trends, identify issues and implement solutions.
- conduct regular reviews of protective security service providers, the security clearance/personnel and other associated programs.
- design and implement effective analysis tools and modelling systems for security systems and security risk management/mitigation programs to provide accurate and timely throughput and management reports.
- liaise with Commonwealth security and enforcement agencies to ensure ASIC is receiving and responding to critical intelligence.
- provide briefings to Commission, executives and staff on overseas travel risks and personal security arrangements.
- represent ASIC externally on security forums and related matters.
- actively contribute to the Chief Risk Office leadership team and collaborate with other internal stakeholders, including sharing information and knowledge across teams.

About you
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in security, intelligence, and criminology.
- A Protective Security Training College Diploma of Government (Security), Diploma of Security and Risk Management and relevant state-based Security Consultant's licence.
- Experience in security vetting, preferably exposure and working knowledge of Commonwealth baseline vetting requirements.
- Protective security technical competence in: Physical security, Personnel security, Governance and Information security.
- Extensive experience in security risk and threat assessment and management, incident investigations and providing advice.
- Experience in developing agency security reports, audits, plans, policies and procedures.
- Experience as a principal adviser on security management for an agency.
- Experience in researching and providing briefings and advice to agency personnel, including briefings to staff located or travelling overseas.
