Due to a pipeline of new projects, the Sydney Water West Region Delivery Team is recruiting again. We have a 10 year infrastructure design, construction, maintenance and facilities management program across the western suburbs.

**The Opportunity**

We are currently seeking an experienced **Procurement Officer** to play a key role on this long term capital works and maintenance program in western Sydney.

You will have the ability to build strong relationships and networks with key stakeholders whilst working collaboratively across a diverse and complex environment. You will be resilient, adaptable and someone who is comfortable making decisions and taking the initiative.

**You will be responsible for;**

Sourcing, prequalifying and ongoing review and management of suppliers and subcontractors, to ensure timely and adequate resources are available to support the successful delivery of WRDT project and maintenance works
- Communicate effectively and professionally with both internal and external stakeholders (including client), ensuring confidentiality of all written and verbal communication
- Prepare and assist in the engagement of suppliers and subcontractors through the identification, preparation, issue, review, recommendation, award, drafting and execution of new agreements
- Request, receive, review and process pre-qualification of suppliers and subcontractors
- Conduct pricing negotiation for the initiation and renewal of contracts
- Initiate, record and respond to procurement related requests from internal and external stakeholders (including client, suppliers and subcontractors)
- Conduct supplier/subcontractor performance reviews
- Ensure subcontractors/suppliers/consultants comply with insurance requirements and obtain/maintain appropriate files for contracts and renewals
- Ensure subcontractors comply with security requirements under the contract including Bank Guarantees and Cash Retention and maintain appropriate files
- Assist with Procurement Reporting

**What you will need**
- Experience working on large scale Infrastructure Projects
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a procurement/category management role, or similar
- Relevant degree qualification (e.g. Supply Chain Management, Finance or Business)
- Professional Procurement Qualifications (e.g. CIPS/MCIPS)
- Preferred experience in the Water industry
- Have a high level of personal motivation and commercial acumen
