**THE ROLE**
The Team Leader North West, Regional Governance and Coordination is responsible for the delivery of the regional governance and coordination of the Dhelk Dja Regional Coordinators and Dhelk Dja Regional Action Groups located in the North and West divisions of the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH).
The role plays a key role in ensuring that the Dhelk Dja Action Groups are thriving under a strengthened regional governance structure to deliver their initiatives and regional priorities under the _Dhelk Dja; Safe our Way - Strong Cultures, Strong Peoples, Strong Families_ 10 Year Agreement.
While providing line management responsibilities to the North West Dhelk Dja Regional Coordinators, the position will empower the Regional Coordinators to ensure Regional Action Groups achieve the vision, objectives and key tasks as outlined under the Dhelk Dja10 Year Agreement.
This role will support the delivery of critical actions under Dhelk Dja Strategic Priority One - Aboriginal culture and leadership and relevant activities under the Dhelk Dja Three Year Action Plan and the Dhelk Dja 10 Year Agreement.
The role actively works collaboratively with government and non-government stakeholders across the state in ensuring engagement with Aboriginal communities to develop solutions to issues of family violence involving Aboriginal people. The position is tasked with ensuring that there is Aboriginal voice in the coordination of responses to family violence in Aboriginal communities.
The successful applicant will require a strong knowledge of Aboriginal culture and principles of self-determination, as well as proven highly developed leadership, negotiation and relationship building skills. They will also require a strong understanding of public policy and the political environment in relation to Aboriginal communities and the Aboriginal Affairs reform agenda.

- An Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person with skills and experience in engaging and building productive relationships with Victorian Aboriginal communities to achieve enhanced outcomes?
- A strong people manager who can deliver within a busy policy and program environment?
- Capable of forming strong relationships across an organisation to build capability to work in culturally safe and responsive ways and able to work in complexity and support the department to deliver innovative and culturally responsive service responses?
**ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE**
- Provide support to strengthen and elevate the Dhelk Dja Action Groups located in the North and East to ensure the Dhelk Dja regional governance structure promotes best practice, initiatives and regional priorities are self-determining and community-led under the Dhelk Dja 10 Year Agreement.
- Support Dhelk Dja Action Groups and Regional Coordinators in achieving the vision, objectives and key tasks as outlined in Dhelk Dja10 Year Agreement, including in the development, implementation, and evaluation of regional action plans, within resourcing, timelines, and budget parameters.
- Provide line management responsibilities to the North West Dhelk Dja Regional Coordinators.
