**The Opportunity**

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking **Simulator Technicians**to join the Training System Support team at **RAAF Edinburgh, South Australia.**Our team is currently hiring **entry to intermediate level**experience level technicians who have relevant industry experience to provide maintenance support services for the RAAF P-8A Training Devices.

As a **Simulator Technician**within BDA, you will provide technical maintenance support for the RAAF P-8A Training Devices including Operation Flight Trainers, Weapons Tactics Trainers, Part Task Trainers and Maintenance Trainers. Supporting this critical equipment will require you to:

- Conduct corrective and preventative maintenance tasks on simulated training devices including mechanical, electrical / electronic systems, sub-systems, and associated IT infrastructure and their peripherals.
- Repair, test, install, configure, upgrade and assist in the modification of simulators and training components, devices, hardware and software.
- Perform daily device readiness activities including system startup and configuration to meet the training schedule.
- Troubleshoot system faults on training device and computer-based server equipment, isolate mechanical or electrical faults, repair faulty components
- Interpret system schematics and conduct parts identification.
- Conduct functional tests of training equipment and monitor training device performance to ensure maximum device availability for customer training.
- Assist and provide SME advice to engineers.
- Perform logístical, administrative, and other supporting duties as necessary to maintain the training devices.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Demonstrated experience in technical maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical or electronic equipment (or similar).
- 3+ years of industry experience in aircraft avionics, electrical / electronic industries, computer information systems, visual display systems or simulation systems.
- Proficient in basic system administration of Windows operating systems.

**Highly Desired Skills/Experience**:

- Experience in aircraft simulator maintenance, including motion and control loading systems, host / interface systems, visual display systems, audio communication systems.
- Basic system administration and networking experience - Windows and Linux / RedHat OS desirable.
- Experience interpreting training schedules and communicating with end-users to ensure the device configuration and serviceability status meets customer training requirements.
- Vocational trade qualification in Simulator Maintenance, Aeroskills (Avionics), Electronics and Communications, or equivalent.

**This position requires the applicant to hold, or able obtain a Defence NV1 level security clearance.**
