PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

RESPONSIBILITIES
Link health-related data sets; including using ChoiceMaker software with matching models that have been previously developed.
Test the accuracy of the model at different cut-off points for clerical review of uncertain matches to minimise false positive and false negative matches, at the same time keeping the number of clerical reviews at a manageable level.
Participate in the development and testing of new linkage/data management, quality assurance methods and software to improve the quality and efficiency of the record linkage services and infrastructure.
Ensure that data are released in accordance with relevant ethical approvals, including amendments, and any additional conditions that may be imposed by data custodians.
Implement privacy and security protocols and related measures to ensure that the collection, use and disclosure of data to comply with relevant legislation and ethical approvals.
Ensure that best practices are followed for data linkage code development (well-structured and repeatable manner).
SKILL SET
Appropriate tertiary qualifications and demonstrated relevant professional experience.
Experience in undertaking a data analyst, data developer, or similar role with a strong understanding of relational database technologies and SQL coding.
Proven use of SQL to process, manipulate and analyse large data sets in a performance manner. In-depth experience C in development and use of stored procedures and scripting languages (PowerShell / R / Python) is preferred.
Experience or knowledge or use of health or other complex related data sets in a data linkage context is preferred.
Proven ability to improve data management processes, produce data related reports and documentation.
Well-developed organising, analytically thinking and problem-solving skills, the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and supervision skills, and the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical personnel.
