Wintringham is a specialised non-religious not-for-profit welfare organisation. We are committed to providing older people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness with a range of high-quality care, housing and services. We employ more than 1,000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania.

**Your new role**

We are currently seeking a proactive Personal Care Assistant to join our friendly and dynamic residential team at our Ron Conn nursing home on a Part Time basis. The fortnightly schedule will consist of 7 evening shifts from Monday to Friday.

The fortnightly roster is as below:
**Week 1**:Tuesday (0700 - 1500) & Wednesday (0700 - 1400)

**Week 2**:Monday (0700 - 1500), Tuesday (0700 - 1500), Wednesday (0700 -1500), Thursday (0700- 1500) & Friday (0700 -1400)

**Successful applicants will have the capacity to fulfill all the above shifts.**

**Your responsibilities and duties will include**:

- Assisting residents with personal care including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming and other activities of daily living
- To observe and report changes in resident’s behaviour or physical condition
- To undertake medication management and treatment procedures as directed by the Residential Site Manager or person in charge
- To liaise with medical practitioners, pharmacists and other health services to provide relevant services for the care and wellbeing of the residents
- Assisting in the implementation of cigarette and alcohol programs
- Observing and reporting changes in residents behaviour or physical condition and maintain appropriate documentation as required
- Providing emotional support to residents.
- Ability to work both in team and autonomously
- Certificate III/IV in Aged Care/Individual Support
- Completion of medication administration unit (HLTHPS006 - Assist Clients with Medication)
- Prior experience in housing & homelessness support, aged care, welfare, disability support, mental health or community/home care
- Keen eye for detail
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to enhance or maintain our residents independence and lifestyle
- A friendly and non-judgmental attitude
