We are looking for a part-time **Trainer and Assessor **for our Automotive department at our **Perth **campus. Full-time positions may be also considered.
The primary course to be delivered is:
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle technology
We also deliver courses in Diesel, and Certificate IV and Diploma level automotive courses.
**Key duties include**:
- Provide quality, compliant, effective training and assessment according to SIA policies and procedures, TAS specifications, principles of assessment and legislative requirements
- Provide student-centric academic support, mentoring and motivation, catering to at-risk students, differing learning styles and individual learner profile
- Maintain all student academic, attendance and other records accurately, efficiently and thoroughly
- Ensure all training and assessment materials are current, compliant with AQF standards and requirements for RTOs and Nationally Recognised Training (NRT)
- As directed by the DOS, participate in validation, moderation, development of learning and assessment materials
- Continually evaluate, develop and improve personal and professional performance
- Maintain industry and VET currency via current trainer matrix, up-to-date qualifications, ongoing industry practice, industry networking and other Professional Development (PD)
- As directed by the DOS, assist in the set up of practical training resources in line with course TAS documents, AQF requirements and course requirements.
- As directed by the DOS, establish and strengthen industry connections for the purpose of student work & training placements.
**Position requirements**
- Unrestricted right to work in Australia
- Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed or verifiable professional experience to the same level or above
- Relevant automotive qualifications to deliver SIA courses or verifiable professional experience
- Current automotive industry skills and knowledge directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided,
- Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning, including communication and classroom management
- High level of spoken and written English.
- Police clearance or willingness to obtain one
- Prepare, deliver & assess units of competency within the automotive courses offered by the RTO;
- Participate in assessment validation and moderation;
- Assess students’ assignments and assessments;
- Maintain students’ attendance;
- Generate monthly student reports;
- Resource management;
- Comply with the National Code legislation
- Provide general academic support as directed by the Director of Studies; and
- Assist in set up and maintenance of automotive workshop.

- Certified copies of all relevant qualifications including transcripts
- Completed VET qualification mapping document (trainer's matrix)
**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week
**Salary**: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
