**ABOUT THE ROLE**

This role will provide leadership and strategic direction to develop and deliver a state-wide shift absence coordination program to deliver high-quality, cost-effective and efficient rostering outcomes optimised to support operational requirements and sustainable results. The position holder is to engage, manage and support key stakeholders to ensure the fulfilment of resources supports service delivery expectations.

The Manager will be required to conduct organisational reviews on the operational effectiveness of the Absence Coordination Line and develop and implement strategic initiatives to ensure the efficient and effective management of the rostering of resources. The position manages internal and external relationships providing professional and timely advice in relation to operational matters and ensures the adequate deployment of resources to meet service delivery expectations. The role provides high level support to the Absence Coordination Line Team Leaders, Rostering Coordinators and People Hub teams and involves the timely reporting of day of shift absences and the review and rostering of staff against vacancies.

**ABOUT YOU**

To be successful in this role, you will require the following experience and attributes:

- Ability to implement best practices for high-quality, cost-effective rostering and operational management of shift absences, including station skills mix, roster management, and daily absence report evaluation.
- Demonstrated people management skills, including providing staff support, staff development, performance management and the early identification of unacceptable workplace behaviours and taking appropriate action such as investigation, resolution and monitoring of harassment and bullying, grievance issues and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to encourage and motivate staff, manage conflict and provide continuous support to staff who may come from a broad range of roles and have varying backgrounds and experiences.
- Sound knowledge of Acts, Regulations, Awards and Agreements and/or NSW Ambulance's operational and rostering requirements including unplanned leave management, resource management and reporting.
- Analytical thinking, the ability to analyse complex data sets, identify trends, and make informed decisions based on evidence.
- A holistic view of the roster to payroll system, including its interconnected components and the impact of changes on the broader system.
- The ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- The ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
